Wei-tun "Paul" Shih September 6, 1936 - November 23. 2022 Paul Shih passed away in hospice on November 23, 2022 following a long progressive course of dementia. Paul was the eldest son to Jeh-Chen and Wuan-Inh Shih. Paul was a private but loving family man, especially to his wife, Chia-mei "Janet" Shih of 52 years marriage. He is survived by his three children and their spouses, Henry (Sharon), their 3 sons, Christopher, Andrew, and Daniel, of East Brunswick, NJ; daughter Helen (Lawton Shick), their 2 children, Liesl and Jedd, of Brookline, MA; and son Jimmy (Susan), their 2 children, Connor and Nola, of Irvine, CA. Paul had a challenging life as an immigrant from Taiwan, arriving to the US in the 1960s for graduate studies in education and earned his EdD at Texas A&M University, College Station. His early years to support his studies took him across the US, including jobs in North Carolina, Texas, Illinois, Iowa, among other states, employed in a variety of jobs, ranging as a migrant worker, busboy, to high school industrial arts teacher. Eventually, he worked at Trenton State College in Trenton, NJ (since renamed The College of New Jersey) for 35 years as a professor in industrial arts and electrical engineering. During his free time, Paul enjoyed spending time with his family, especially with outdoor activities of fishing, crabbing, clamming, and gardening.
