~~~ Namaste ~~~
The Awasthi Family is heartbroken to announce the passing of Vikranta Sharma (Awasthi), 56, of Cranbury passed away at home on Thursday, September 24, 2026.
It is with great sadness we say goodbye to our beloved wife, mother, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend.
Born in India to Raj Kumari and Ramakant, Vikranta spent her formative years in Sangrur and attended Maulana Azad Medical College before moving to the United States. She was a tour-de-force as a general and palliative care physician, eventually ending her career with the Visiting Nurses Association and Robert Wood Johnson. In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, Vicky was an avid traveler and loved to spend time on the beach.
Vicky was predeceased by her mother Raj Kumari and is survived by her father Ramakant; her husband of 31 years Ashish; and her sons Shray and Ashvik.
Vikranta was a loving wife, mother, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend who was selfless beyond measure and remained childlike in her wonder for the world and love for laughter. She touched countless lives and will be deeply missed by everyone.
A prayer service for family and friends will be held on Monday, September 28th, from 12:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m., at The Crematory at Holy Cross, 228 Cranbury South River Road, Jamesburg NJ.
Cremation services will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Vikranta’s name to Hope For Depression at https://join.hopefordepression.org/campaign/840284/donate
We invite you to share your memories of Vikranta and upload photos to the memorial page at www.rubymemorialhome.com.
