Sahiblal Kohli Obituary (1939 - 2025) - Plainsboro Township, New Jersey

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sahiblal Kohli, lovingly known to many as “Dad,” on August 12, 2025, at the age of 85. He was the beloved husband of 59 years to Sarita Kohli, cherished father of Alka (Kohli), Tanuja (Gohil), Shailini (LaVoie), and Anami (Lehmann); treasured father-in-law to Mohit Mediratta, Joel LaVoie, and Tim Lehmann; and proud grandfather of Sonika, Meghna, Ishaan, Gabriella, Lucas, Louisa, and Eleanor. He was the devoted son of the late Kailash Kumari and Ram Prakash Kohli, and the adored brother of Satya (and Ved) Varma and Ravinder (and Manju) Kohli. Dad was the head of our family — a guiding light we all looked up to. He was a man of deep humility, wisdom, and kindness who touched the lives of all who knew him. He had a rare gift: always pushing all of us to achieve great heights no matter what our vocation; and the unwavering attitude of “Family First”. Whether speaking about the politics he loved, the latest inventions, or events shaping the world, he was deeply informed and always mindful of how these changes affected people’s lives. Dad and Mom had a wonderful life together. As a husband, he was devoted beyond measure. Even in the most difficult times, Dad stood by her with unwavering support. Their love for each other was one of quiet content and ran deep. One of Dad’s greatest joys was his grandchildren. He cherished every moment with them, offering gentle (and sometimes not so gentle) guidance and heartfelt encouragement. He urged them to study hard, to be kind, and to carry themselves with dignity. To him, they were the future, and he wanted nothing more than to see them shine and rise in this world. As a father, Dad was unwavering in his devotion. For his daughters, he sacrificed so much to ensure they received the best education and the foundation to grow into accomplished individuals with meaningful careers. For all his other children in the family, he constantly kept up with their achievements and shared in their pride whilst again, pushing everyone to new heights. We have lost a man of rare character — one who lived with integrity, thought with clarity, and gave with an open heart to his extended family. Though his absence leaves an emptiness words cannot fill, his legacy will live on in the values he instilled, the lessons he taught, the love he shared so freely and through all the family’s children who looked up to him as our “Dad”. ********************************Radhasoami***********************************
