Christine Madan

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Christine Madan, a woman of extraordinary spirit, who left us on August 4th, 2025. Born on March 19, 1945, in Sheffield, UK, Christine was a beacon of compassion and generosity throughout her 80 years of life. A resident of Utica, NY and Colonia, NJ for many years, Christine touched countless lives with her kindness, love, and enduring spirit. Known for her inspiring outlook on life, Christine had a way of making everyone around her feel special, cherished, and heard.

Christine loved her friends and family deeply, with an unwavering commitment to open-mindedness and justice. Her career with the New York State Social Services, where she served as a Director until her retirement in 2013, was a testament to her dedication in serving others. A woman of many talents, Christine found joy in gardening, traveling, cooking, and baking. She especially loved taking walks outdoors and visiting the Jersey shore. She dedicated her time as a Meals on Wheels Driver, further showcasing her compassionate nature.

Christine is survived by her loving spouse, Om Madan, and her brother, Keith Slade. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ida and Kenneth Slade. Her life and legacy will be celebrated on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at 1:00pm EDT at the Franklin Memorial Park, 1800 New Jersey 27, North Brunswick Township, New Jersey, 08902.
