Alicia ODonnell

–

North Brunswick Township, New Jersey

Alicia Thomasina-Maria O’Donnell entered the world on April 15, 1970, as the beloved daughter of Alice Luzarski Farnworth, with her arrival eagerly celebrated by her older brother, Stephen Patrick O’Donnell. Raised in Bayonne, New Jersey, Alicia was a passionate young woman, active in her church, school, and numerous extracurriculars. An accomplished athlete and musician, Alicia excelled as a soccer player, softball champion, and clarinetist, yet always made time for her family and friends, who adored her boundless energy, kindness, and joy.

In her teenage years, Alicia loved to dance, sing, and share countless adventures with her best friend, Adrienne Nowicki Senatore. She graduated from Bayonne High School and later Union College, and at the remarkable age of 19, became a branch manager at First Fidelity Bank; a testament to her work ethic and drive.

On April 1, 2000, Alicia welcomed her precious daughter, Adriana Elaine Adler, who became the light of her life. Alicia was the most dedicated and nurturing mother, showering Adriana with affection. Together, they built a childhood rich in beautiful memories: holiday traditions like watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Friday movie nights with ice cream, and unforgettable trips to places like Disneyland. Education was central to Alicia’s life, and she worked diligently to provide Adriana with the best schooling. She proudly watched her daughter graduate from both high school and college with honors, and relished in knowing that she was pursuing a graduate degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

In later years, Alicia resided with her devoted mother and stepfather, Alice and John J. Farnworth, who tenderly cared for her. They enjoyed many sunny days on the family porch, sharing laughter in the home where Alicia watched Adriana, her niece Stephanie, and her nephew Justin grow up. Alicia looked forward to frequent visits from Adriana and her partner, Adam Schifferdecker, deeply cherishing their time together as a family.

Alicia’s life was filled with unconditional love, home-cooked meals, music, laughter, dancing, and every color crayon under the sun. She was adored by all who knew her for her radiant smile, unreserved laugh, humor, and generosity. Her genuine goodness and warmth left an unforgettable impression on everyone that she ever met.

Alicia passed away unexpectedly on November 10, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones and under the compassionate care of her mother and the staff at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. Though she is no longer with us physically, her beautiful memory will live on forever in the many, many people who loved her dearly.

She is survived by her mother, stepfather, daughter, brother, niece, nephew, aunt and uncle Stanley K. Luzarski and Ila Caffrey, aunt and uncle Linda and Tony Diaz, and numerous cousins. She is reunited in heaven with her grandparents Florence and Stanley Luzarski, grandparents Maryanna and Peter O’Donnell, her father Stephen O’Donnell, and her aunt Maureen Luzarski. Alicia’s family, friends, and those who contributed to her care over the past 20 years will miss her immensely.

Now an angel watching over countless loved ones, Alicia will always remain a strong, revered presence in the hearts of all who had the blessing of knowing her. She will be fiercely missed forever.
