"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing." (2 Timothy 4:7–8)
In Loving Memory of ADLY GEORGE BASELUOS
It is with great sadness that the Baseluos family announces the passing of our beloved father, brother, uncle, and grandfather. Adly George Baseluos, born on September 7, 1941, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2026, at the age of 85.
Born in El-Minya, Egypt, Adly was an Egyptian immigrant who earned master's degrees in both sociology and chemistry. He dedicated years of public service to New York City, retiring from the NYPD as a narcotics chemist. Driven by a passion for education, he was also a beloved chemistry and mathematics teacher in the New Jersey public school system, where he earned a second retirement. Adly was highly entrepreneurial and found great success working in multiple careers, including real estate.
Adly’s impact reached far beyond his career. He was deeply instrumental in helping his brothers and sisters adapt to life in America. A generous philanthropist, he established a foundation to act as a benefactor for aspiring high school seniors, and he remained a dedicated supporter of his home community in Egypt. He deeply cared for his family and will forever be remembered for his love, guidance and generosity.
Adly was preceded in death by his parents, George Baseluos Botros and Kokape Nashed; his wife, Fawzia Baseluos; his brother, Hamdi Baseluos; and his sister, Galila Abdel Malek.
He is survived by his brothers, Makram Baseluos and Sabry Baseluos; his sister, Rose Fanous; his son, Michael Baseluos, and daughter-in-law, Lara Phinney; his daughter, Dr. Cindy Baseluos, and son-in-law, Ranjit Walia; his grandchildren, Jaya Walia and Maximos Walia; and his nieces and nephews, George Baseluos, Joy Mary Baseluos, Andrew Abdemalek, and Chris Fanous.
He was blessed by God, used in His service, and ran a good race.
“As for you, go your way till the end. You will rest, and then at the end of the days you will rise to receive your allotted inheritance.” (Daniel 12:13)
