Obituary for Richard Allen Hughes

Richard Allen Hughes
Beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Richard Allen Hughes, 74, of East Windsor, NJ, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, April 9, 2017.

Funeral Arrangements and under the care and direction of Ruby Memorial of Hightstown, NJ. Memories and condolences may shared at RubyMemorialHome.com

Born in Titusville, NJ to the late Allen Herbert Hughes and the late Beatrice (Servis) Hughes. Richard was lovingly raised by the late Beatrice Hughes Hart, and the late Howard Hart. He graduated from Pennington High School and proudly went on to enlist in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War era. While serving in the Air Force, he was accepted into an academic program in Saratoga, NY to learn what would become his life's work in the electronics field. After his honorable discharge he traveled to California. Not long after, he returned to NJ and spent the majority of his career as a Sales Engineer and Regional Manager with Kyocera America, Inc. located in Bound Brook, NJ until his retirement in 2003. Richard enjoyed spending time with family and had a great compassion for animals, especially his dog Sadie. He was a member of the Trenton Corvette Club and owned an award winning 1975 Corvette. He loved snow skiing out west as well as the CA & NJ beaches. He was an avid Nascar fan, enjoyed reading, creating scenic layout for N-Scale trains, working with anything electronic, and proud to have the most pristine sound system around. He really enjoyed spending time in the Lincolnton, North Carolina vacation home and left reassuring us that he had a good life.

Mr. Hughes is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Renee (Briehler) Hughes. Loving daughter Kimberly Martello, son-in-law, Charles Martello, and step-son Donald C. Morse III, cherished grandchildren, Brittni, Nicholas, and Jade.

His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing his humble and kind heart, fun sense of humor, and the cool guy that he was. Grateful for the everlasting impression he has left on us, he will live on forever in our hearts through our cherished memories.

A private visitation was held at Ruby Memorial followed by a cremation that was held at The Holy Cross Burial Park. The family will have a celebration of life that will be held privately.
